How "Joyful Sound" began

Joyful sound has been like a seed that was planted in Joy's heart many years ago.  Through her own backround in music, mixed with having her own children, and then working as a Children's Ministry Director. Joy began to see clearly the powerful influence that participating in quality music brings to the lives of children.

People began suggesting to Joy the idea of a conducting a city-wide Children's Choir.  It did seem as though there was a great need in the Treasure Coast, both for after-school opportunities and for homeschoolers.

At the beginning stage of exploration, she began a search to see what other children's choirs were doing.  Many choirs seemed too basic and the kids were not challenged enough in the area of vocal instruction and music theory.  Others were geared towards absolute music expertise, yet they struggled to really connect with the hearts of the kids.  

Through much prayer and God's faithful provision, Mrs. Joy has pledged to offer "Joyful Sound Children's Choir" as a place where children can:
  •  Discover and shape their voices in a non-competitive environment
  •  Learn to sightread music, both melodically and rthymically
  •  Discover and enjoy playing children's instruments teaching musical concepts
  •  Learn to worship God naturally and creatively at their own level
  •  Have a ton of fun doing all of it!
